Buying Riviera DVC Resale

A resale Riviera contract works inside a closed loop. Points bought resale at Riviera can only be used at Riviera. The rule runs the other direction too: resale points from other resorts cannot be used at Riviera. If you buy Riviera on the resale market, you are buying Riviera stays and nothing else.

That restriction is a permanent deed term written into the contract. It will not change because a seller or a listing says otherwise.

Who This Contract Suits

Riviera Resort sits between Epcot and Hollywood Studios on the Disney Skyliner, with a European Riviera theme. It fits you if you already know Riviera is where you want to stay most years and you like the Skyliner connection to two parks. It does not fit if your plan is to move around the network, booking a different resort each trip. A contract elsewhere serves that goal better.

One consequence is easy to miss. Since resale Riviera points stay at Riviera, each trip you take with them is a home resort booking. The 11 month window is not a bonus here. It is the whole system, and it gives you four months ahead of anyone booking at 7 months.

Price and Contract Length

As of October 2026, resale listings on this site were asking an average of $126.50 per point. There were 41 listings, ranging from $102 to $170. A spread that wide usually reflects differences in contract size, use year, and how many current points come with the sale, so compare contracts line by line. A contract with a full set of current points can justify a higher asking price than one where the seller has already used this year's allotment. Ask what comes with the sale before you compare the headline number.

Riviera expires January 31, 2070, about 44 years from 2026. That is a long run of annual allotments. It also means a buyer who later resells will be offering decades of remaining use, under the same Riviera only restriction you accepted.

The Steadiest Dues Record in the Table

Riviera dues were $8.39 per point in 2021 and $8.38 in 2022, a one cent drop. They rose to $8.50 in 2023, $8.85 in 2024, $9.06 in 2025, and $9.46 in 2026.
