The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort
Magic Kingdom Resort Area, Florida
Overview
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort offer a unique wilderness retreat in the heart of Walt Disney World. Nestled in a pine and cypress forest, these 504 sq. ft. cabins opened in July 2024, providing a peaceful escape with modern amenities including full kitchens, smart technology, and private porches with grills.
Buying Cabins at Fort Wilderness DVC Resale
Resale contracts at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness are scarce. Only 2 were listed on this site in the October 2026 snapshot, so any average built from them is thin evidence. As of October 2026, resale listings on this site were asking an average of $172.50 per point, with one asking $150 and the other $195. Two listings cannot tell you what the next contract will cost.
If you searched for Fort Wilderness cabins for sale, the thing you actually buy is a deeded Disney Vacation Club contract with the Cabins as your home resort. You do not buy a particular cabin. Your points reserve a cabin for the dates you book.
Where the Cabins Sit
The Cabins are inside Fort Wilderness, the wooded campground on Bay Lake near Magic Kingdom. Each one is a freestanding cabin among the pines, which suits families who would rather have a porch and a grill than a hotel hallway. Boats run from Fort Wilderness to Magic Kingdom. If you picture DVC as a tower room with a balcony, this is a different kind of stay entirely.
Contract Length and What It Means for Value
The Cabins contract expires January 31, 2075. That is about 49 years remaining as of 2026, the latest end date in the DVC system. A higher price per point buys many more years of point allotments than the same price would at a resort ending in 2042. When you weigh asking prices, divide by the years left. A long runway also means a future buyer still receives decades of use if you ever decide to sell.
Annual Dues Since Opening
Dues records here start in 2024 because the Cabins are new. The rate was $12.15 per point in 2024, $11.88 in 2025, and $12.28 in 2026. That 2026 figure is the highest at Walt Disney World. Only Hilton Head and Vero Beach charge more across the whole system. Compare all resorts on the DVC annual dues by resort page before you settle on a point count.
Resale Restrictions
The Cabins were added to the DVC network after 2019, so resale restrictions apply. Resale points from other resorts cannot be used to book the Cabins. If you want cabin stays and you are buying resale, a Cabins contract is the only route. You also give up Membership Extras and the Sorcerer Pass discount, which are not available to resale purchasers. Before you sign, ask for written confirmation of exactly where the points on that specific contract can be booked. The same family of rules governs Riviera Resort resale contracts.
What you keep is the part that matters most for a resort with this kind of appeal. Home resort owners can book the Cabins at 11 months before check in, four months ahead of members from other resorts. You also keep banking, borrowing, and the right to resell.
Inventory comes and goes. Check the current Cabins at Fort Wilderness resale listings to see whether anything new has appeared since October.
